Anticipation

Whether it is our first trip to Malawi or our fourth, the entire team is experiencing a myriad of emotions about leaving in only a couple more days. There is fear, there is excitement, there is a flurry of activity, but it's all part of the anticipation that comes before a new adventure.

Adventures are scary, and some of us are scared. The Bible tells us often to "be not afraid," but, well, we might be anyway. And that is okay, so long as the fear does not interfere with our obedience. We have each been called by name to Malawi, and while going may scare us, we will do it afraid.

Adventures are also exciting, and there is great joy to be found in thinking ahead to the experiences awaiting us on the other side of the world. We will be joining with brothers and sisters in the body of Christ - some of whom perhaps we have never met - and bringing the Kingdom to this world. God has some tremendous stuff in store for us, and I have no doubt that we will be awed every day.

Thank you, in advance, for the prayers I know will be coming our way. Thank you for the million ways, both little and big, in which you have supported this team already. As we prepare to depart in T-minus 45 (ish) hours, I am most anticipating seeing those beautiful MCM children again - holding them, laughing with them, and reflecting as much of Jesus as I can into their precious lives.
